Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-15

The short version

WoodCalc does not ask you to create an account. Numbers you type into calculators stay in your browser. We do not sell personal data. We collect only what we need to run and improve the site.

What we collect

Information you give us

If you email us, we keep your email address and the content of your message so we can reply and remember the conversation. We do not add you to a mailing list — we do not have one.

Usage data collected automatically

Like nearly every website, we and our hosting provider record standard technical information: pages visited, referring page, browser type and version, device type, and approximate geographic region derived from your IP address. This is aggregated and used to understand which tools people find useful and where the site is slow.

Cookies

WoodCalc itself sets no cookies. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies for security and load balancing. If we add advertising in future, this policy will be updated before it goes live and any advertising cookies will require consent.

What we do NOT collect

• The measurements and numbers you enter into any calculator — these are processed in your browser and never transmitted to us.
• Names, addresses, or payment details. We never ask for them.
• Precise location data.

Third parties

When you click a link to a retailer through our affiliate links, that retailer receives a referral identifier and their own privacy policy applies from that point on. We have no access to what you do on their site. A full list of our affiliate partners is on our affiliate disclosure page.

Affiliate commissions

Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the retailer may place a cookie to credit the referral. This never affects prices and never changes anything a calculator returns.

Your rights

If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, or you want to know what usage data we hold about your visit, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for their marketing.

Children

WoodCalc is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, note it on the homepage. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
